This 1.2 Kilowatt PV system uses Sanyo's HIP panels, manufactured to take advantage of both high temperature and overcast conditions. Featuring an Outback Flexware 500 Photovoltaic system with two 3000 Watt sealed inverters and 12 Kilowatt hours of battery storage, this system is designed to provide backup power for critical loads for several days with no grid power. This system also features the first permitted residential wind generator on the island of Oahu. Rated at 400 watts per hour, this marine-grade unit is designed to take advantage of the abundant wind resource found on this site. This system is integrated into the Outback Flexware system, providing two sources of power for recharging the batteries and for feeding power back to the utility.
