The Greenhouse is a place where people can come to learn about how to apply sustainability practices to their urban living environment. Founder Betty Gearen has created a diverse educational program that takes a hands-on learning approach to make sustainability an everyday part of people's lives. To demonstrate their commitment to living sustainably themselves, Mrs. Gearen and her husband, Michael Gearen, invested in a 3.7 KW battery-less grid-tied PV system.

The system now produces more power annually than the couple uses - in anticipation of an electric vehicle that will one day be powered from the panels on the home's roof.
